Rusty sheet metal is one of the favorite materials used by the Gie El brand. As architect and co-founder of Gie El, Jacek Rypuła says: “Rust is the new gold.” We obtain a rusty coating on thin steel in cooperation with nature. We let it work and leave its mark on the product. Each time slightly different, subtly changed, depending on the external weather conditions. It can confidently be said that the lamp is painted by the hand of nature. After obtaining the rusty coating, the material is protected with a clear, matte coating, making it safe for use indoors, not getting dirty, and not crumbling.

The modern form of the lamp, revealing the light bulb, allows for the use of decorative variants. For this model, we recommend using an “Edison” type bulb with a visible filament, which will further emphasize the character of the lamp and the play of light.

The RUST BIRD II lamp, like all other Gie El products, is designed and entirely manufactured in Poland. Each individual lamp is laser-cut from a sheet of thin metal, undergoes bending, painting, and is then manually assembled with the appropriate electrical components.
